Jutta
Benzenberg studied photography at the Bayerische
Staatslehranstalt für Photographie in Munich and worked afterwards
as a photographer for different magazines and theatres. She worked
with some TV-stations such as BR first as a cameraasistent and at the
privat TV as a cameraman as well.
In 1991, she travelled for the first time through Albania to shoot photographs
of those upset times, to capture Albanian portraits and landscapes
and to produce a book, which was published after several
Albania-journeys in spring 1993 in Salzburg, Austria, under the
title: “Albanisches Überleben” – Albanian Survival.
Since
that time Jutta had a lot of exhibitions on Albanian themes in
different cities of Germany, France, Austria, Italy, Switzerland and
Albania.
Jutta
Benzenbergs second book „Bukuri e rëndë“ – „Sombre Beauty“
sponsored by the Swiss culture foundation Pro Helvetia appeared in
Tirana in 2004. With the photos of this book she had several
exhibitions in Tirana , Prishtina, / Kosovo(Think Pink),Thessaloniki,
Athen (Goetheinstitut) and she participated at the Bienale Tirana.
Her
last exhibitions had place in Rumania, Prishtina (Burned Negatives)
Athen, Berlin, Prizren {Kosovo}, Tirana (“The Balkan Tale”).
Her
last book ”Ahead with the Past” sponsored by the Swiss
Foundation DEZA, was published by Fotohof Salzburg Austria in
2011
She
mainly works with projects for books and exhibitions.
For the moment she is based in Tirana, Albania and Munich, Germany.
