Bogdan Dziworski is a Polish photographer, cinematographer, director and screenwriter, born on December 8, 1941 in Łódź.. He studied Film Production and Camera at the Film Academy in Łódź.
Dziworski
is famous of his excellent short documentary films. Many of them have
won awards at the most respected film festivals. He is one of the
most charismatic and influential polish teachers of photography. He
lectures at Silesian University in Katowice and at the Film School in
Warsaw.
His
black and white photographs, classical in form and content, belong to
the canon of Polish post-war photography. Just like his great master
- Henri Cartier-Bresson - Dziworski captures the scenes from life of
ordinary people: young and old, beautiful and ugly, happy or sad,
silent or screaming. Especially beautiful are his pictures of
children. Although his first album "My View" was published
in 1981 in Vienna - for a long time his pictures were hidden in a
cupboard. Most of them were unleashed in 1990s on exhibitions in
Warsaw, Krakow, Wroclaw and Berlin.
