Stéphane
Coutelle is a French photographer and director, known for his
stunning portraits of women, who has succeeded in combining a fine
art and a commercial career.
Insomnies,
to be released April 2014, combines intimate pictures of women with
mysterious night landscapes.
Shoebox
Studio, released by Damiani in March 2012, is a artless series of
portraits of young aspiring models taken in Paris between 2004 and
2008.
Other
photography projects include The Corner (Paris,
1998-2002), Three Sisters (Prague, 1989 –
1995). His self-portrait photo book, Me Myself and I,
was published by Kehayoff Edition in 1995.
Stéphane
Coutelle has been focusing on photography for the last fifteen year.
Previously,
as a painter, he exhibited his large, hypnotic women’s portraits on
solo shows held at the Paris Hôtel de Ville (1994), Coprim
Foundation (Femme
du Temps Jamais,
1995) and Galerie Art & Patrimoine (Face
B,
1998).
