Barbara Ghiringhelli was born in Udine in the 70's and she moved to Milan in 1981. In order to study art history she moved to Reading, not far from London, where she lived for thirteen years working as a bookseller and translator. She does not consider herself a photographer, but more of a storyteller who thinks in pictures inspired by three great masters: Francesca Woodman, Diane Arbus and Tim Walker.
Her work is autobiographical. About her, she says « ...the research starts from there : me. I'm like a peeler ». She is currently working on a new project on herself and her home, a sort of « dialogue-battleground ».
