Marie Sjøvold, (NO), 1982 : visual artist and photographer

Marie Sjøvold, (NO), 1982, is a visual artist working with long term projects, working across photographic genres. 
Her works have been shown in several solo- and groupshows in Europe and Indonesia and published among others in Filter (DK), Objektiv (NO), Fotografisk Tidsskrift (SE), Rearviewmirror (IT), Art world magazine (CN), Photographie (DE), D la Repubblica (IT) and Nasjonalgalleriet (NRK). In 2011 she was selected to Norwegian Journal of photography and European Photo Exhibition Award. In her latest solo show, she installed the photographs and two short films of her project She is in her grandparents empty house and garden in Krokstadelva, Norway and opened the doors for a last time. She had documented her own pregnancy, exploring this new situation as her grandparents were slowly fading away. She is came out as the book Dust catches Light, 2011, Journal Forlag. In her ongoing project Midnight Milk she continues this journey, exploring motherhood. This work has been exhibited at Deichtor Hallen, Hamburg, Calouste Gulbenkian, Paris, at the Lumina photofestival 2012, Italy and at the Nobel Peacecenter, Oslo, 2013.
